Designation of Post:- Regional Lawyers

Job Profile

Overall supervision of Retained Lawyers in a particular region. Title Search/Preparation of Title Reports for
the respective Branch - carrying out preliminary examination of title (initial title check), call for other necessary documents in order to form an opinion on the title, do personal title searches at relevant Land Registries and prepare Title Reports in accordance with a format acceptable to the Bank. Preparation and Attestation of Mortgage Bonds and other security documents. This task involves - drafting of security documents and submitting the said documents for comments/ approval in respect of Banking facilities/ Home Loan facilities. Appearance in Court for and against court action connected to the respective Branch which involves - attending parate actions, attestation and registration of Conditions of Sale, obtaining of certified extracts of the Conditions of Sale and the Certificates of Sale.

Qualifications
* Be an Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public with minimum 5 years of post-qualifying experience in a similar     role either in a Bank or a Financial Institution.
* Should be around 35 years of age.
* Should possess strong communication skills in English & Sinhala/Tamil The ability to speak, read and write    in Tamil is a must for the Regional Lawyer of North & East.
* Should possess a positive attitude, the ability to work independently with a high degree of professionalism.
* Ability to travel outstation for legal matters if needed.
* Prospective applicants may be placed in the regional offices in keeping with the location of his/her home        town.
* The Tamil speaking Regional Lawyer of North & East can be based in Colombo, Head Office if need be
